The Mazzipetti<\/a> bike shop and the Kytherian Foundation for Culture and Development<\/a> (KIPA) in cooperation with the Cultural Association of Kastrisianika village \u201cMelissa\u201d<\/a>, the Cultural Association \u201cPortokalia\u201d<\/a> and Kythera Trails<\/a>, organize mountain bike and trail running open type races in Kastrisianika and the surrounded villages, Kythira. These races are the second installment of the cup called \u201cSvelta\u201d 2021-22.<\/p>\n

Time\/place of start\/finish:<\/strong> 10.00 o\u2019clock at Kastrisianika village square<\/p>\n

Routes description:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mountain Bike:<\/u>
\nThe cycling route will be a 10 km cycle of moderate technical difficulty and will consist of cobbled trails, rural dirt roads, concrete roads, paved roads as well as a part of the signposted route of the Kythera trails.<\/p>\n

It will pass successively through the following locations\/settlements:<\/p>\n

Kastrisianika – Tzouanianika – Aroniadika – Vamvakaradika – Pitsinades – Aroniadika – Aloizianika – Frilingkianika – Kastrisianika.<\/p>\n

Trail Running:
\n<\/u>It is a 6 km cycle. On the route, one encounters cobbled paths – rural dirt roads – concrete roads, and paved roads. 90% of the route is part of the official trails network \u2018Kythera Trails\u2019.<\/p>\n

It will pass successively through the following locations\/settlements:<\/p>\n

Kastrisiannika – Tzouaniannika – Aroniadika – Aloizianika – Friligkianika – Kastrisianika.<\/p>\n

The use of trail (running) shoes is recommended.<\/p>\n

The trails will be marked for reconnaissance from 5\/2 morning hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Feed zone:<\/strong> There will be one station for running and one for biking.<\/p>\n

Stations may be modified depending on weather conditions.<\/p>\n

Junior high school students<\/p>\n

High school students<\/p>\n

Elementary school students 6-9 years old (separate course)<\/p>\n

Primary school pupils 10-12 years old (separate route)<\/p>\n

Saturday 5\/2 10:00-14:00 collection of bib numbers from Mazzipetti<\/p>\n

Sunday 6\/2 08:30-09:50 bib number collection from the organization\u2019s desk.<\/p>\n

09:50-10:00 technical briefing<\/p>\n

10:00 start of the running race<\/p>\n

11:15 start of the cycling race<\/p>\n

PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPIL\u2019S RACES<\/strong><\/p>\n

The routes for the cycling and running races will be modified accordingly and will take place in Kastrisianika Square.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Awards will be given to the top three (3) finishers in each category in each sport. All participants will receive a commemorative medal.<\/p>\n

-Those who have reached the age of 18 are eligible to participate. For minors, the completion of an affidavit of the guardian is required (provided by the organizers upon receipt).<\/p>\n

-Use of a helmet for cycling is compulsory.
\n-The bikes are required to be Mountain Bike type and in good working condition (brakes, crushed tires, oiled chains)<\/p>\n

-For participation in the race, the respective health protocols of the GGA apply.<\/p>\n

-The use of a mask at the starting area and secretariat is compulsory.<\/p>\n

PARTICIPATION FEE:<\/strong><\/p>\n

10,00 \u20ac for the cycling race<\/p>\n

5,00 \u20ac for the running race<\/p>\n

12,00 \u20ac for participation in both sports.<\/p>\n

Payment will be made on receipt of the entry number.
\nEntries under the age of 18 are free of charge.<\/p>\n
